Commitment to User Privacy
VIBevents is committed to protecting your privacy.  You can visit most pages on our websites without giving us any information about yourself.  However, sometimes we do need information to provide services that you request.  This document is designed to give a clear explanation of VIBevents’ data processing policies. 

The Information we collect and the Primary Purpose for its collection
The information you provide is being collected by VIBevents for the purpose of processing your registration or enquiry or in order for us to provide services that you request.  The provision of this information is voluntary.  However, if you do not provide the information requested, we may be unable to process your registration or enquiry or provide the requested services.  All information provided by you will be held in the strictest confidence.

The information we collect includes (however is not limited to):

  • Full Name, Job Title, Company Name and Address, Phone/Fax, Email Address

We also collect other non-personally identifiable data, which may include your IP address, what browser you are using, operating system, access times and what parts of our services you use.

Use of Cookies and Log files
Cookies are a standard and generally accepted Internet technology, and many major web sites use them to provide useful features for their members. Cookies allow us to store and retrieve login information on a user's system. They provide us with data that we can use to improve the quality of our service and make it easier to use. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you would prefer, you can set yours to refuse cookies. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of our services if you do so.

Use of Information

  • Pre Event 
    You may receive reminders and marketing messages prior to the event. You may opt-out of receiving these pre-event marketing messages at any time by unsubscribing from our email list or emailing events@vibevents.com requesting to be removed from future marketing messages (this may take up to 10 working days to process).
  • During the Event 
    We will not display your personal information at any time prior to the Event.  During the Event, other users will be able to see your user and company name. Personal information is only displayed to other users when accepting an invitation to swap Vcards.
  • During and after the Event, sponsors of the booths you visit will receive your registration information so that they may contact you at a future time.  Additionally, third party advertisers may sponsor booths and/or keynote presentations. Registration information may be passed onto these third party advertisers when a user visits these sponsored areas so that they may contact you in the future. If you tell us to stop doing this, we will stop.
  • We will use the information you provide to personalise your experience. We will contact you from time to time via email and we will use your email address for security reasons to confirm that you are who you say you are. You can control the types and frequencies of certain emails you receive.
  • VIBevents offers chats and message boards.  Please be advised that information posted in these venues may become public knowledge.
  • Post Event
    We may contact you via email after the event to receive feedback about your experience and let you know of relevant services from VIBevents.
  • Outside of the Event (Third Party Advertisers)
    You may "opt out" of receiving promotional materials at any time after the event by logging into your account and changing the setting under your personal preferences or email events@vibevents.com advising us of your wishes (this may take up to 10 working days to process).
  • We may use your personal information to send you promotional materials, and share your information with advertisers and other third parties so that these third parties can send you targeted promotional materials. These materials include communications to promote or purchase our products or services. These third parties may set cookies. You may "opt out" of receiving these promotional materials at any time.
  • When sharing your information with third parties we attempt to select only reputable companies that offer high quality products and services.
  • Government Regulations
    We will disclose your personally identifiable information if we reasonably believe we are required to do so by law, regulation or other government authority or to protect the rights and property of VIBevents, its affiliates or the public. We may also cooperate with law enforcement agencies in any official investigation and we may disclose your personally identifiable information to the relevant agency in doing so.
  • Information About Other People
    On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, you may be able to provide email addresses of colleagues who may be interested in the Event. We will use this information to contact these people for the purposes of increasing event attendance.

Minors
Children under the age of eighteen (18) are not eligible to use our service and must not submit any personal information to us. Minors may only submit personal information to us with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Acquisition
We reserve the right to transfer your personal information in the event of a transfer of ownership of VIBevents, such as acquisition by or merger with another company. If an acquiring company should plan to materially change this privacy policy, we will notify you.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information
You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by logging in using your username and password. You may also use this procedure to terminate your subscription.

Data Storage and Security
The security of your personal information depends on your protection of your account password. Please do not disclose your account password to unauthorised people. VIBevents uses industry standard technology designed to help keep your personal information safe.
